Bilingual caregiver wanted

I'm finding that hiring a caregiver is quite a frustrating process. I only want someone for 20 hours a week, someone who speaks Spanish and English, and who lives fairly close by to area code 91307 so that she, preferably can arrive early in the morning and handle the early morning duties. I have tried to reach out to various organizations and I keep running into high costs or unreliable individuals. I look forward to hearing from you.

No help, but laugh  to keep from crying. I’m seeking a caregiver who speaks English well, my DH can’t understand anyone with an accent. Pretty much all the caregivers here in S. FL are still learning (at best) English. I hate to sound like one of those people, but DH is impaired, and has trouble understanding. They all cost upwards of $30 an hour, regardless, considerably more from an agency.

I am sorry you are going through this. I have had similar difficulties finding a reliable, competent caregiver. This is without any language issues. One of my relatives is having the same issue with her family.

The agencies in my area do not have the staffing and, yes, they are expensive. You can try care.com as recommended. I have done this and it's hit and miss too. Screen carefully, get references. Some of these caregivers are trying to charge much more than the agencies and usually want cash.

It shouldn't be this difficult to find good care.
