Mom’s done almost a complete reversal

My mom was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in October. She had a very rapid decline and the neurologist said she was in the moderate to severe phase. She started having scary hallucinations in January and the neuro prescribed Aricept and Depakote. She was still having intermittent hallucinations so they increased her dosage in Feb. Now she has done a complete 360. She has been super sharp and lucid for at least the last month. The neuro had said he didn’t think she’d walk again but she’s walking with assistance and a walker..This whole turnaround is so crazy to me, I saw the MRI. I just can’t believe these drugs would have such an impact. Has anyone else’s LO’s had this?

Has anyone tried giving their Alzheimer’s patient/loved one THC supplements?  I have heard good things about behavioral changes in them after taking THC. My sweet husband has tuenes into a angry, agitated person beside the normal horrible memory loss and frustrations. Please let me know your thoughts and experience.

LBD patients often have a much more beneficial effect from Aricept than AD patients.  My husband benefited a lot and it helped right up until his death.  THC is particularly dangerous for LBD patients.

JoJo hope it's the Aricept that is in fact helping.  But I think great fluctuations in level of alertness are also well described in LBD and are in fact one of the hallmarks of this dementia.
