Norm, I can relate to your feelings! As many have said, this is not what retirement was supposed to be.

Norm, you are so right, so sadly right. A few days ago, I started a post entitled «I’m crying.» Regardless of what brings us to tears, this disease often leaves us spouse-caregivers bereft.

I feel the same, Norm R.  Barely a day that I don't cry at some point. It's got to come out sometime.  We all share this with you.  In sharing it, maybe we don't feel quite so isolated.  God bless you, and I wish uplifting moments for you and for everyone in this forum.

I had hope a couple of years ago that some day I'd get over the grief of watching the person that is/was the woman I love slowly melt away, and not being able to help. I was mistaken.  At this point I'm just trying to help in any way I can to make her days at the nursing home a little brighter. There is never going to be a good day when I have to live them without her.  I've come to accept that, even though I still cry more than I'd like. Mostly I'm just waiting to die and I  pray she precedes me to our heavenly home. I am so looking forward to seeing her again, healed of this terrible disease.

He keeps repeating himself.  Over and over...we used to talk for hours...now he just rambles on and says the same thing over and over

    I am sad
