Trouble with giving pills

I started having trouble giving DH his pills.  He either spits them out or spits them in his glass of water.  I tried putting them in yogurt, but some tables are large and he crunches them if they are in food.  I need advice - I'll try anything.  He isn't refusing them - he just can't figure out how to swallow them with water or soft food.

Kenzie, please ask your doctor or pharmacist if they can be crushed. Some can be without problem, and some can't. If they can, you can try mixing them with applesauce, yogurt, or something else that is soft, and something he will eat. I know it's hard.

My husband can take ground up medication mixed into applesauce. I ordered a handy pill grinder from Amazon. It has two sections. Put the pills in one piece then screw down the other piece to pulverize.  Like ED1937 said, be sure to check with your doc or pharmacist to make sure the pills can be crushed. Timed release medications usually cannot be crushed.

Search Amazon for  EZY DOSE Crush Pill Crusher & Grinder.

Also if they can be crushed it doesn't hurt anything for him to chew them up. If it works for him, it works for me.
