Looks like LO has had a decline

Hi all, it's been a while since I updated on our LO. I believe she has begun a significant decline over the last few weeks. Meal times are iffy. Some days she eats and drinks no problems but there are getting to be more days than not that she just stares at her plate and drink and doesn't touch it no matter how much we prompt her to do so. I had the hubby start getting her some fruit to get some liquid in her on the days she isn't drinking. Today is one of those days where she is just sitting and looking at her breakfast or coffee then hang her head back down and closes her eyes. I gave her a bowl of watermelon and after a few minutes of looking at it she ate it but still hasn't touched her coffee, which normally she drinks 2 cups before breakfast is served.  We've had a couple of days in the last week where she wouldn't even acknowledge us. Just either looks with a blank stare or hangs her head. As she was in a stare I would flick my fingers at her eyes  I guess you would call it and she didn't even blink. Well she finally after about 2 hrs picked up a sausage and took a bite but still hasn't touched her coffee. She hasn't really been able conversate much in a while and she is now holding even less of a conversation with only really saying more than a few words at a time. She rarely say's anything unless spoken to 1st unless it's her none stop loop of asking Jesus to help her she just can't make it by herself and even that seems to have started to be less often than usual. Needless to say we've been pretty concerned about her the last few weeks. Scared she's gonna get dehydrated. Bless her heart. It's been a little over 6 years since we started this heartbreaking journey with her and with each year I don't think she'll make it to the next but I'm really starting to believe this just may be the last. She's fooled me every year before though.

Mabeene, I’m sorry to hear what you and your LO are going through. Is she on hospice?

Mabeene it sure does sound like a major decline to me as well. Like May Flower, is she on Hospice?  When I read your post I knew you were from the south, then I read your profile. Like you the city has it's  conveniences, I grew up in a city in Massachusetts, but we also lived in the country, so when I got older I chose to live in the country, 70 miles east of Nashville on 16 acres since 93. I thank God for the country. I will be praying for you.

Mabeene, I'm sorry you're going through this with LO. It's so hard to watch them slowly disappear. All we can do is support them and be there for them for comfort. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers.

If you haven’t already done so, I’d suggest getting a hospice evaluation.  My moms been on hospice for over a year, it’s been so helpful.  They could really help no matter how long your LO has left.

    I’m so sorry!
