Returning DW to care home.

Does it ever get easy. Its so hard every time I take her out and then have to return her.

TThis is 3rd week she has been there.I have issues with their care but I'm not sure another place would be any better.

Monck, I had this for awhile with my mother. We moved her to my city for MC after AL became insufficient. She had been content at AL, and her friends took her to frequent church activities, although they'd stopped carrying her to cultural events like concerts, opera.

I was able to get her to quite a number of live music events, and there were coffee outings, movies, go-for-a-drives, picnic lunch. I wanted to do as much as I could while she could still (quite amazingly for a tiny and frail woman of 91) hoist herself into my old minivan. Coming back to MC was very hard to begin with. She wouldn't physically resist, but would get emotional and use her considerable articulacy to say how miserable she was. This stage did pass, I don't remember when. But the time came after a month or so that she was accepting of it.  I hope this will come for you too.

Another view says, don't even take her out yet. I think every family is different. What I did for Mom worked for us.
