A couple of anniversaries and a poem

Crushed

In the next few days we will have our 47th wedding anniversary and the 50th anniversary of our first real date (CABARET) 1972.   It is also the 47th anniversary of my graduation from law school and the 45th of her graduation from medical school
We bought our house 47 years ago today. I wrote this poem last year
 
 You don’t know me

Or why I call

Your blue eyes stare

As at a wall

But I know you

My blue eyed girl.

My heart can leap

Emotions swirl.

 
You were my princess

Long ago

In summer heat

and winter snow.

We swam with sharks

And walked with bears

We skied down hills

Without a care

We loved and laughed

and played and cried.   

We shared our love

As sunlight died.

 We kissed on curbs   and

Painted rooms
Beaches, Churches

King Tut’s tomb
five and forty years we had

Daughters called us mom and dad

Now you sit,

my blue eyed treasure

Our  life was gold

By any measure

 The memories
are with me still
I can’t forget

I never will.
