Visiting in AL

I moved my mom into AL on Monday.  I had her go out with family members for the day and then drop her off at the new place, we were there to help her get settled.  We had dinner with her and got her settled.

She has been more busy in the last 4 days than the last 4 years. She is so happy and positive. We get great calls during the day.  Then around dinner time and the evening, she asks when is she going home. We tell her it is a trial period and she cries because she doesn't know why she is losing her memory. Like all of us here, she hates it.

I plan on visiting her on Saturday. I'm worried it will delay her settling in.  All the family want to visit her but for now I told them they have to wait and we need to space it out. Anyone have any tips to share on how to make visits less disruptive?

Thanks, amy

Saturday and Sunday are great days to visit.  My parent’s AL doesn’t have much going on during the weekend. Limited staff, mainly to cover meals, medications and residents’ needs. normally no activities except maybe a church service.
