Mystery Solved - Stomach/Bowel Issue Since Hospital

Hi all that chimed in to help me with a previous post. Turns out the problem was not the iron pills (although will keep watch once back home hopefully). We tapered down, we changed to a slow release, and we eliminated for a few days and problem still not solved.

Yesterday, while I was there, it got even worse although he was alert. Then today the aid and sister said dad was not willing to eat and was not very responsive. So we called the ambulance and he was transported to the hospital. A little while ago, they notified me that he indeed has C-Diff and he is going to be re-admitted.

The treatment plan is oral antibiotics for the C-Diff and an IV drip to treat the low potassium they believe is a result of the long battle with diarrhea.

Guess the sample we took in to the doctor was going to take longer to get back so glad we went ahead with the other route although I hate having to send him back after he had only been home for a couple of weeks.
