Money moon

I find it incredible that my dw can still remember about when the checking statements come. She always starts asking if I get any statements for our checking account. Of course my answer is always they have gone digital and I get them on my phone. I try not to explain or reason. But everytime she asks I feel my anxiety kick in. We haven't  gotten statements now in 2 years but she remembers. And the full moon isn't helping at all. She didn't sleep well at all,she was kinda teary-eyed and depressed. I hope today I can get some of the CT results and I will hand deliver the BP readings I have taken.  The Sundowning is getting worse. She had a meltdown yesterday and beat the daylights out of the stairs going up them,at least it's carpeted. Oh how I hope they will give her something to help her. Her hands hurt all the time for her pounding stuff.

I think obsession with money matters is common, it certainly was for my partner.

Good luck and let us know what the docs say.  It does sound like she would benefit from medication.  Hope he will prescribe.  If not, ask for referral to a geri psych and tell them it's urgent, you can't wait a matter of months to get it.  Squeaky wheel, again.

TBE, I am so sorry; this is a terrible situation for the both of you and you have been doing a wonderful job of  hanging on and maintaining so much that is necessary.  Your wife is blessed to have you by her side.

I do not recall whether or not you have done so, but your wife's situation has worsened and become more complex; has she been seen by a dementia specialist as yet?  It appears she needs this level of expertise in order to have the most appropriate medication prescribed by a highly knowledgable and experienced healthcare professional who sees dementia patients as a routine part of his/her practice, and to also develop a full plan of care approach for the here and now as well as when things further evolve.  It can make a difference.

If no seen by a specialist as yet and it seems you need to get in, as M1 says, be a bit dramatic and term it as "urgent."  If that is not successful, have your primary MD contact the Specialist personally and give an "urgent" referral.  This happens frequently between medical providers and can often get a very swift appointment spot.

I send you heartfelt warm thoughts and so hope help will soon be found.

     J.

M1 thanks, her blowup was about cat food and whether she feed them, all I said was I think you did, Boom.

Jo C she has not been seen by a specialist yet. The MD is also our neighbor and he and his wife have been down this road themselves. Do you want to hear irony. My dw used to sit with their lowd at their home, I used to visit and would bring a hymnal and sing  few favorites. We border each other and when he needs anything  mechanical fixed he usually calls me.

TBE, praying you will get the help your dear wife needs very soon. It’s so frustrating when you know your spouse needs help and you have to wait for other’s (doctors) . The waiting seems to go on forever. I can certainly relate. And your bp will be going up! Know we all care and are here for you both. Let us know what you find out.

M1 I had to do the run about to get the results. Doctors office didn't  have it, went to hospital and used the dpoa to get the results of course that person wasn't on location it it took 30 minutes to get it. There were no masses and no infractions. This was the only note I saw that might mean something.
there is cerebral volume loss and nonspecific supratentorial white matter hypoattenuation

Look forward to your personal opinion.

My DW used to worry we were losing our money or not spending it correctly.  She used to do the bills.  What I started doing is I preparing a small net worth sheet showing her each asset we have and its value and every month I gave her a copy.  OK it takes a few minutes, but it stops daily questions about money and her worry we will run out.
