Questions Frontal Temporal deficits
Where do I begin?...My mom has been having trouble since beginning of this year...multiple ER visits...for different things..she's been told she's full of bowels ( figured that one out)...March 12 Went to Er for uncontrollable shaking, ( ER night mare that night)...she bottomed out when they drew blood/ start iv...( hospital staff really didn't want to give her a room, they checked her blood pressure three times each time was lower then one before it)...( no appetite either )anyway after that time she has spells of shaking ,crying, and Blubbering( thats what I call it)...hospital/Dr's have written this off as anxiety, ..I requested an MRI/CT due to the fact there is brain cancer in family...CT was done at ER and Dr ( ER dr.) CT shower that deficits in the front temporal lobe..ER dr stated that might be causing the shaking/crying/Blubbering issues. But no one else has stated this since, just give the 4 anxiety meds ..As requested from her boyfriend have been setting up a med organizer...she was doing better this last couple of months, ..now as of Monday all of the shaking/crying/Blubbering ..
I just want answers....

Does your mom have a diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease? She sounds like she is having trouble taking care of herself. She needs close supervision, including dispensing of medications. Keep in mind that most anti-anxiety medications that are prescribed for adults have a paradoxical effect in older adults, and most make PWDs worse. What is the role of the boyfriend? Have you spent a weekend with her? Check the refrigerator, what is she eating?

Hi gardennut - Have you checked with her primary care doc? 'deficits in the front temporal lobe' but seems to me they shouldn't just leave it at that.
agreeing with Iris - making sure she is taking any meds correctly, checking on what she is eating, and sounds like she shouldn't be left alone at this point.
