hospice told me to start lorazapam and haldol each every four hours not working. He looks sooo very tired. He is hallucinating badly. Sees people that are not here, thinks he is in a hospital, is picking at his skin.   His speech is somewhat garbled.

This happened a few weeks ago they ended up giving him morphine it finally worked after an hour and a half. Looks like I might have to resort to that again.

If he hasn't slept in three days, it is no wonder he is hallucinating.  Can you call his doctor and tell him what's going on?  Even at night, the on call doctor might be able to help.

I called hospice they are sending a nurse. The oncall one asked me to give him morphine now but I don't want him on so many meds at once. He is not acting in pain, he is hallucination and delusional. The hallucinations started and they stop him from sleeping : (  The haldol and lorazapam are not helping at all. I checked his o2 level it was 88 and put oxygen on him. Nurse should come within the hour. Hate to see him like this.

nurse called dr dosage of lorazepam and haldol doubled. she gave him the L. after she left his breathing got faster and he started wheezing. Called them back they said well he's nearing the end of life.

This morning he was enjoying some music.

He went through this recently I think he'll snap back.

What about an antipsychotic like Risperidone? My DH has been taking that for several months and it helps him to sleep all night. It is the only thing that has worked so far. It has also calmed him during the day. He is somewhere around stage 6, but mobile and up and around during the day.
