If you did everything your LO asked, where would you be in a week?

I sometimes wonder this when we are driving down the road and my LO is instructing me to take this left, this right, etc.

O! That is too funny!!! That happens to you too? Well it is something to ponder for sure. My DH is super-resistant to going anywhere with me, and has only been in the car 3-4 times in the last several months, but it is just as you describe. I noticed more than ever before...boy was he back seat driving! (like he had a clue, poor thing). And stated with such confidence. At one point I asked him how he could tell me where to turn when he didn't know where I was trying to go? Didn't stop him

I thought to myself just what a problem he'd be causing if behind the wheel executing the maneuvers he was telling me to do.   Turning despite clearly posted "no turn on red" signs. Not waiting for the green arrow as indicated. Not yielding the right of way. Telling me, OK you can go now! But only looking one way so it would put us in T-bone position pulling out in front of traffic on the other side :| And definitely directing me to turn in the opposite direction from the actual way home, many, many times.

Where would we be in a week? For us, crossing a median into oncoming traffic somewhere, I'm afraid. Clear evidence that I was so right to get him out of the drivers' seat and disappear the keys and his car long before someone got hurt. Or if we manage not to crash and burn, the best case scenario following his directions now? On a long and winding road that leads who knows where. Somewhere in the twilight zone.

hmm - agree with Butterfly Wings - that sure is an interesting thing to ponder.

From what MIL has said as we are driving - also agree - so glad we took away the keys.
