Something I learned and slight update

A couple mornings ago we were awakened at 5:30am by loud souped up cars peeling out and making as much noise as possible.  Our bedroom window faces a cul-de-sac and I recognized one of the cars a belonging to our neighbor's (directly across the street) high school age son's friend tearing out then having to make a sharp turn.  I was livid and started going off on where are the parents, what are these kids doing out at this hour, they could kill someone rants.  The more I went on the more my DH would pick up on it and get even angrier about it then me when at the time it happened it didn't seem so worrisome to him.  Then all of a sudden he was telling me about the big party they held in our house the night before and how I was canoodling with the kids egging them on and he should have called to police.  Well, this went on for a couple of hours and then the light came on.  He was picking up on my anger and frustrations,  If I was angry, he had to be more angry.  So what I learned is no matter how bad something might be, it's not worth getting so upset if it is going to upset your loved one more.

BTW, later that evening I went over to talk to the kid's mother, who is separated from her husband, about what happened.  I was ripped a new one about how I should keep my nose out of other people's business and not to tell her how to raise her children.  I just wanted to tell her about the at least 3 police reports that were filed about this but I guess she will find out later.

One last little update.  Yesterday we got a call from my 85 year old MIL, yes the one I kicked out of my house in Feb. that she had been in a slight accident.  The "slight" accident was at a McDonald's where she hit the gas instead of the break and she took out the order speaker before slamming into the car waiting in line.  No one was hurt thankfully but her car was undrivable.   Her other son was at work which meant I had to take DH to pick her up.  After I got her in the vehicle it was, could you stop at Home Depot?  Could you take me to the pharmacy?  I'm thinking what if the order speaker was a child?  Then her other son said something that took my breath away, that he didn't think his mom had insurance.  Geez, not my circus, not my monkeys.
