Any caregivers with experience with these supplements?

What are your experiences with these supplements? Any positive or negative reactions? We ordered some supplements to try out that are supposedly good for Alzheimers.

Ceylon cinnamon supplements

Panax ginseng supplements

Lionsmane mushroom supplements

Vitamin B complex, which we have already been taking due to deficiencies that we heard the carbidopa levidopa can cause.

No experience with any supplements, but please make sure that your LO's doctors are aware of any and all supplements and over the counter meds which are taken, as they may be contra indicated with prescribed meds.

I don't have any experience with the herbals. I agree with LK that it is critical to share everything you are giving with his medical team.

My dad was prescribed IV Thiamine (B1) by a neurologist because of a presumed deficiency (it can take a few days for the bloodwork to come back and his was a medical emergency). It was explained to us that only IV Thiamine would be effective- this isn't something you can replicate with pills at home. The results were quite impressive- dad became a lot less confused in the weeks after the series was done. He had mixed dementia- the ARD responded to the treatment, but he wasn't able to remain abstinent. He also had Alzheimer's so any benefit he had was temporary at best.
