Thanks for posting, Jo C.  My memory problems began with global amnesia in 1987, but no one apparently was aware of this diagnosis in those days.  This amnesia developed gradually, as I recall now.  The one time my memory was tested, I did not recall the president's name, I called him John Bush instead of George Bush.  The doctors who tested me thought I was faking, malingering is the medical term.  

Yet, over thirty years later, I still have memory loss.  My memory loss may be unusual, because I have loss of fund of knowledge, along with short term loss and speech difficulties and a few other symptoms.  I think I am an interesting case.  I still have no specific diagnosis for such severe memory loss that I lost my career.  Can sleep apnea cause all of these symptoms over such a long period of time?  I had an appointment with a sleep specialist but I had to postpone due to getting Covid.  I'll ask the specialist when I do see him.
