Support Groups for Family Members?

Does anyone know of any virtual support groups that have been helpful for them? My father has late stage Alzheimers and is now in a memory care center for about a month now. Struggling with a lot of it so I’m looking to see if there’s any support groups that have been helpful? Thanks!

Hi kara. Welcome to the forum. Sorry you need it. I have bit attended a virtual group, but I did attend in person group. Family members were welcome there, and you might find that a virtual group will also welcome them. Just find one online, then go from there. Good luck.

It seems like this forum is a great support group too.

Welcome to this forum.  So sorry for your circumstances though.  If you go up top to “local resources” then “programs and events” you can locate virtual support groups and possibly some in your area which may help too.

You can also call your local Alzheimer’s Association and ask them if they know of, or provide, online/virtual support groups.

My local Alzheimer’s Association does both, but their schedules do change;  other “umbrella” type websites that list resources often don’t stay up-to-date on local offering, IME.
