Just adding that for clarification, the "levels" that Towhee refers to--Levels 1, 2, and 3--have nothing to do with levels of care offered in any facility. They are "Levels" (also called Groups) specific to the TennCare long-term care services: Level/group 1 is anyone in a facility, level/group 2 is those who are medically eligible to be in a facility but are being cared for at home (This is where most CHOICES services are delivered), and level/group 3 is those who are NOT facility-eligible. The levels are relevant financially for the amount of services TennCare will pay for. Group 2 (that's what your wife would be if she is discharged home) are eligible for up to 1400 hours (about 27 hours per week) of home health services per year, along with things like pest control if needed, home-delivered meals if needed, and up to 216 hours of in-home respite care per year (that's about 5 weeks if given 40 hours/week, only slightly over one week if used for 24/7 care as there are 168 hours in a week).0

Stewart, here's a link to the TennCare Rule covering all long-term care services:

My dw is a level 2 or group 2 and she must be in the facility to become a grop or level when Medicaid is approved. Could be 9000 a month from what I understand. Still no update from the hospital administrator. Time time is ticking away today.0
