We saw the CELA

We got all the paperwork done, now to a place.  The one I was interested in has covid ,Sign was on the door  Covid postive  We left. Tomorrow I start looking and hoping to find a opening for my wife.   Have a idea on the spend down but will find out after she is placed.

Also picked up UTI meds now if she will drink it,  it was in powder form I mixed it with pepsi.

The time away was nice also didn't have to drive. The CELA  was very helpful and dear son liked him very much.  He said I picked a good one.   How the hell that happened I don't know.  Dear wife is eating a toasted cheese sandwich another win    Hoot

  • This is an important step, good for you getting it done.
  • Hi Hoot,

You are accomplishing a great deal, and I know how stressful each thing is.  Worrying about DW's happiness and safety, hoping it goes alright with the meds, and that a good spot becomes available - so much other stuff!  But that was so good that you didn't have to drive, there was a bright spot.  And the sandwich!  I am thinking of you, and I pray you have a peaceful night.

  • Good job Hoot. Feel good about yourself.

  •  Hi hoot,

What is a cela? Where did you get your paperwork done?

I also need to take over finances how do I do that legally?

Thank you! It's been a rough day here

  • Hoot, that's a big step. Glad you got it done. Hoping you find a place soon.
  • The most important part of all of this is to see a CELA before you do anything with finances ,property etc also before you place your loved one.  There are a lot of pitfalls that could cost you a whole bunch of money etc later on. Your CELA guides you thru  all of this. Hoot

She drank all the medicine, took a while but hopefully it will still work.

  • So glad she drank all the meds in her Pepsi! Happy for you getting everything taken care of with your lawyer. That’s a very good day for you! Lots accomplished, enjoy the win.

  • Celebrating your win, Hoot. These CELAs are worth their weight in gold. They really take a lot of burden and worry off our shoulders. Now, if we can just get some all-star Social Workers/Discharge Planners to smooth the path to finding good placement options, we'll have a virtual party to celebrate the win.
