Surviving death

I have not been on in a long time.  I just wanted to reach out to those who may remember me as Teresa99.  My DH passed 2 days ago.  My heart is broken.  I thought it would be easier as we have been at this a long time.

I am so sorry for your loss! I don't think it matters how long we have to prepare for a LO's death. It still seems like a shock. I think that grief is the price we pay for love. And we wouldn't want to live without love. I also believe that the more we serve someone, the deeper our love for them grows. So we feel so lost when they are suddenly not there. What do we do now? Every waking moment (and sometimes our sleeping moments) has been focused on them. I don't know you. But if you've been at it for a long time, you did good for a long time! Your LO is resting now and so can you. I hope you can take comfort in feeling your LO near when you think of them. I lost both parents within the past year. I know that losing a spouse is different. What comforts me is when I think things like, "I wish I'd told Mom\Dad _______", I remember that she\he can hear me AND UNDERSTAND me now and I just talk to them. You're in my heart.

Teresa,  your heart may be broken now but it will mend. You will remember the good times from years ago. That song ( Honey) showed me what I miss and my wife is still with me. Teresa, I will keep you in my prayers    Hoot
