Neurologist in Baltimore / Howard County Area?

My wife has seen a couple neurologists about Mild Cognitive Impairment (which I believe she has), but I haven't been impressed by either of them.  When I research online (and get references from our primary care physician), I am also unimpressed.  I'm hoping to find someone who gets good reviews AND specializes in dementia / Alzheimers.

I want someone who goes beyond the 10-15 minute oral test that seems to be commonly used to for initial screening with a max score in the 25-30 range.

I feel like the neurologists we've seen have taken a single course in dementia and mostly studied other areas of neurology.

Can someone please recommend a neurologist who goes beyond the very basic screening?  (She's seen one doctor several times and another doctor a couple times and each visit is essentially a repeat of the previous meeting, including the exact same test.

Please help.

Thanks

HerGuy

    Hi HerGuy,

My father lives in Howard County MD, which is why I clicked on your post. He is not seeking a neurologist at this time, however, so I do not have any information to offer you. You might try posting on the "Spouse or Partner Caregiver" forum. That one is very active, and you might receive more responses.

    Yours,
