I Miss Her - 2 Years

I loved Lydia. And when you love someone you just, you…you don’t stop, ever.

Lydia passed away on October 22, 2020 at 2:23 am.

In losing her I found out it is a gift to exist, and with existence comes suffering. That when you love someone there is inevitable suffering, that is what I know is true. 

We think we can win against Alzheimer's. We think we can fix things, that we can fix it. But you can't. There is no cure for this disease. You can only experience it. And to fully experience that, you have to accept that it's real. The loss is real. Oh how I miss her. 

She was beautiful, she was lovely, she was my best friend.

I love you Lydia always.

Your thoughts are so helpful. Thank you for sharing. Susan is ALWAYS with me. It was an honor to care for her. I often thought of how well she would have taken care of me had the situation been reversed. Some of the difficult days and nights are also part of my memory. Most often my training helped minimize her anger and aggression. I assume others have these thoughts as well.
