Inexpensive camera to watch LO while I'm at work?

My LO with EO is home alone for 2 days per week.  Can anyone recommend an inexpensive camera system that I can set up in the living room and kitchen to monitor her?  So far she is very functional and doesn't use more than the toaster but I'd like to be able to check on her once and a while when I'm at work.

I use Blink cameras.  They are inexpensive, and available at local big box stores.  Very easy to set up and are linked to my phone so I can check them from another room or from out of the house.  A Cloud package can be purchased if there is a desire to keep and store images.  I did not do that as I just use them for real-time to drop in and look-see.  They have a microphone feature, which I like. It’s push-to-talk, and if I need to talk to DH I activate the feature.  All he has to do then is answer, there is no need for him to push any buttons or use any voice commands.  I also like the night vision feature,  My bedroom is upstairs and DH is on the main floor.  If I hear an odd noise from his room the camera allows me to quickly check on him without needing to get up and walk downstairs.

Thanks for the response!  When you say "out of the house" do you mean that it works from far away with wi-fi or cellular?  Can you share the model that you have?

Yes, they work with Wi-Fi, and via Wi-Fi they link to your phone.  When you set them up you download the app which will bring up the real-time images on your phone.  The app is free, the only ongoing user cost will be if you opt to purchase Cloud storage.  Set-up is simple and does not take long to do.  Re your question about model number, I’m sorry but I don’t have that info.  Blink makes a few different cameras, and if you check out their features online you’ll quickly figure out which is best for your situation.  You can then purchase them online or at any local retailer that stocks them.

I use Wyze cameras.  They have proven to be very helpful.  My LO is at home along a few days a week while I am at work.  Although she sleeps late, it is very helpful to just pull up the camera from my phone and see that she is ok.  It's well worth having!

Hi! We use Wyze and they are great. I am no longer working but when I was I could watch mom and caregivers live whenever I wanted from my phone. Now I can use it if I'm outside doing yard work and want to make sure Mom doesn't go downstairs (it's motion activated so I just set an alert).

This time of year you will find great deals on electronics because of the holidays. I just saw this set of 2 Blink indoor cameras for the crazy price of only $29.99. If the link is removed, just message me and I will send it to you. Or just keep your eye out for holiday/black Friday savings on security cameras.

We use Wyze cameras. It's how we learned that dad was getting strong enough to get out of bed. The first time we saw him it was like watching a baby learning to walk. I like the Siren feature to help alert my sister and aids if we see him keep going after the bed alarm goes off or headed for the door in his wheelchair. Don't know about the smoke & CO Alarm feature. Love most everything about the cameras except notifications. Had to shut it off.

My LO lives alone, and we use Kasa (bought on amazon), love them! Includes being able to hear, too.  Thats really been important, when someone comes to the house (especially police or stranger).

I live 250 miles away, but visit every week.  So the peace of mind when I am not there means a lot.

    Peace to you and all!

I use the least expensive Ring camera.  I have a cloud package that covers the indoor and outdoor cameras.   He is moving to a stage where he needs more supervision, so I now use the cameras to alert me if he is moving towards an exterior door.
