    Hello,

This is what I do for my mom.

    1) have plenty of equate wipes (walmart)

    2) save all grocery bags to put everything in

    3) I have a clear plastic mattress cover (ordered on line) wipes off with vinegar

    4) Chucks for the bed work on top of the sheets (available cvs, walgreens, walmart etc)

    5) Bought a lot of cheap wash cloths that I want mind throwing away if necessary

    6) Use a warm wash cloth after the equate wash cloths to clean also

    7) Find a really good Diaper/pull up to put them in

    8) also use balm on their bottom to protect from sores

    9) Stop liquids early in the evening

    10) When my mom started refusing to sit on the toilet, I saw that she was scared of it.  I purchased a really need metal arm rest that fits around the toilet like a chair.  She uses the arms to help her sit.  Problem solved.

I hope this helps.  You are not alone.

I found both hydrogen peroxide and shaving cream good for cleanups.

    For better cleanup:

When my LO would have a (typically loose) bowel movement 'accident' in incontinence underwear (also with an incontinent pad in those), I'd have her carefully lower her underpants to just below the knees, while sitting on toilet. With her knees parted, and her holding the soiled underwear level, I'd slip a plastic grocery bag under the center of the underpants and cut them off, into the plastic bag. Cleaner than having her lower them to her ankles and then try step out of them without dumping the soiled underwear.
