Prescriptions

My DH is at the beginning of stage 5. My work open enrollment for FSA card is coming up. What’s the average monthly cost I could expect for prescriptions for him. Seraqol, Zoloft,  etc

This is impossible to answer without specifics:

What are all his prescriptions? Dosage strength and frequency?

What insurance will be paying for it?  Is he on Medicare part d?

You can go to Medicare.gov( without logging in if you prefer), enter all his prescriptions, select same pharmacies.  You will get a list of possible part d plans, and your costs for the monthly premium and costs for the drugs.

What is the insurance deductible and co-pay?

My spouse is on a lot of prescriptions.  In order for me to decide what next years FSA amount should be, I would add up every check and debit card I had written to the doctors, hospitals, pharmacy etc.  then I would  decide if we were likely to need the same level of treatment in the coming year.  I would look at our insurance for changes in co-pays, etc.

Now that my spouse is on Medicare G and D( that prescription part), his prescription costs have gone up for brand name especially since he hit the coverage gap in the 3rd month he was on it.

Those are both available as generics. If I were trying to make a guestimate, I would research prices on GoodRx.

My insurance company allows me to research copays for prescriptions on their website; perhaps yours does as well.
