Update to kicked out update(1)
Wow! What a month!
It was exactly one month today that DH kicked me out and didn’t know who I was.
He’s been in geripsych for a month and is doing great.
After seeing 18 MC I finally settled on a place less than .5 a mile away that also happens to be the least expensive. DH had his assessment yesterday and, thankfully, he was accepted.
I have the weekend to furnish and he will be taken their 1st thing on Monday.
Thank you everyone for your support and ideas.
On to the next journey we go…

Elcy not that any part of this is good, but I am glad everything has gone so well. You have managed superbly. Sounds like you can let up just a little.

ElCy, I'm glad he is doing well in geripsych. And it's the best thing for him to go straight to MC from there. That could save you a lot of heartache. I'm sorry he has progressed as he has, but you can hold your head high. You've been great advocating for him.0

Wonderful! Buckle up for the next round... Hope it'll be a smooth ride.0

Fantastic! You have done well by your husband, and kept you both safe.0

Very good news indeed. Glad his geripsych stay has stabilized him, and that you have placement squared away. Hope this next stage goes smoothly.0

That is wonderful news, ElCy! It will make a difference and you are very wise in having placement right out of GeroPsych; the transition will be ever so much easier.
You are not abandoning him in any way. This will give him the 24 hour multiple staff care, licensed nurse oversight, increased socialization, activities he can watch or join in with; and you can visit as much as is best or as you wish and once again be the loving wife who is not exhausted and overwhelmed by the dreadful behaviors that had become dangerous.
Let us know how it goes; may it all turn out to be a huge positive for the both of you.
