She's gone...(1)
My sweet Mama, Betty went home to Jesus at 10:04 Friday, December 2. Her earthly suffering is finally over and though I am sad because for now we are apart, I rejoice in the fact that one day we will be together again and in the mean time she is well and healthy.
This past year has been such a hard one for her. Her dementia progressed quickly and her physical body just gave up on her. She couldn't stand let alone walk. That made it so we had to use the hoyer lift to move her around and oh how she hated that thing. The month of November is one I hope to never re-live. She struggled so much and as we got further into the month she started having what the hospice nurse called terminal restlessness. She would kick her legs, raise her head off of her pillow and cry out. Broke my heart to watch it.
I am so thankful for the past 13 years that she has lived across the driveway from my husband and I. Also thankful for her five wonderful, compassionate caregivers. So in the midst of sadness blessings truly do abound. Thank you, Lord for the privilege of taking care of my dear Mama as she cared for me when I was growing up.
Rest well, Mama...I love you forever and always

Your writing is very dear and loving; your mother was blessed to have such a loving and caring daughter, no one could have done better and her time was made easier by your care, your advocacy and your oversight.

So sorry for your loss. She is beautiful.
You did a wonderful job of taking care of her, and I know she must be smiling down from heaven. My FIL passed in November and I can relate to the mixed emotions- missing him but glad he is healed now. Out last year, and last month especially, was very hard too.
