Christmas Day Worries

So my dad as of recent has been VERY choosy what he eats and often doesn't eat his meals (we don't have a large kitchen space) but I do prepare dinner almost every night. He normally acts as if he can't walk but tonight he made his way into the kitchen without a walker and then as I asked him what he was doing he said he needed help even though he walked into the kitchen with no assistance.  He's had spells where he can't stop shaking but we have heat on and blanket on him but he doesn't eat. Tonight telling me he wasn't eating that s***. Do I take him to the hospital for shaking? Even though he's not eating and we're not gonna force feed him? I already gave him his night-time sleeping medicine so I'm not sure what to do. The way hospitals are we would end up sitting there for hours and not be seen until maybe 1pm tomorrow afternoon.  I have his doctor's personal cell #. His doctor hasn't been re plying so I don't know what the. Est move is.

It may be time to consider hospice care.  Poor eating and weight loss are criteria for admission to hospice care for PWDs.  It does not mean that he has only six months left.  You can call yourself, you don't need a doctor's prescription.

Just wishing you well. Checking in to say I hope your day is better. You know best but I would say definitely sounds like time for extra help. Hospice care maybe. Not sure about the eating but seems worthy of longer term assistance. Best of luck and sorry you are going through this.
