We finally have a temp guardian of person and the estate.  The judge ordered Dad to go to doctor to determine his competency once and for all.   On the 3rd reschedule, doctor was supposed to be heading to the house.  Guardian Ad lidem expecting to file contempt of court charges.  Stepmother wants guardian of estate to pay her $10k, she is having trouble finding competent attorneys.  She is looking for a 4th.  She is also requesting a payout for her daughter.    Both are conditions for Dad to go to the doctors appt.  I don't think it will go over well with the judge.  I just want to see my Dad at this point.  Stepmother has been repeating her lies to neighbors as she doesn't realize the guardians and court are in charge now.  She has accused me to family and neighbors of "messing with the mail."  She thinks I am directing their actions.  She has also been gatekeeping Dad's phone to the point, he doesn't know he has a new grandkid on the way, I had surgery etc.   She has texted me in disjointed English acting like Dad.  I am just hoping the court ends this soon.  I am so very tired.  Mikela in Tx.

Hello Mikela,  I remember some of your older post. I especially remember "The Daughter"! Now she is wanting a pay out. If I remember correctly she didn't do anything to help your dad. I'm very sorry this is still going on. I've never had to deal with this type of situation so I have no advice to offer. Thank you for the update. I also hope you get to see your dad real soon.
