I want to go home(2)

my wife and I are caretakers for my 80 year old brother who I think is in stage 6 alzheimers. One thing he asks me is that he wants to go home. I think that he means the house he built here in the middle of Alaska. He insists that the house we all live in is not his home. Does he really want to go home to where he grew up ? in Boston ? That is very hard for me tomunderstand. has his long term memory deteriorated so much that all he can think of is his collection of childhood memories.

I need help please

thank you

There are different theories on this. Some say it is their childhood home. Others say it is not an actual structure, but a time when things were easier. I think you could ask him what is the best thing about "home" that he wants to go there. That might give you an idea where he is coming from.

My LO, 87 years old, seems to have lost the past 40 years of memories. She is continually stuck in the 1980s, based on the events she speaks about (such as believed age of her child). I'd estimate her to be Stage 6.
