Best overnight incontinence product?

Does anyone know of any overnight urinary incontinence briefs that work really well? And I mean REALLY well.

We've been using Depends Maximum Absorbency (not sure if that's the right name, but it's one of the Depends) for awhile. They are fine in the daytime, but overnight she often leaks through and soaks her pajamas and sometimes the bedding. We use disposable bedpads also that keep the sheets from getting it, so that's one thing that helps.

But it kills me to go wake her up in the morning and the bedpad is wet and her pajamas are soaked nearly every day. I try making her go to the bathroom often and late at night before she goes to sleep. Cutting off any drinking after dinner, etc. The problem is she just doesn't have the mental capacity to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. 

Even in the day time when she's awake, if we were to let her alone, she would sit in her chair for hours and wet the depends. But we prompt her every once in awhile to go to the bathroom. She'll always say, "Oh no, I just went to the bathroom." Which is never true. And then with a little coaxing we get her into the bathroom and she does her business. Thankfully she's never combative, she just always thinks she just went.

So anyway, just wondering what any of you in a similar situation have been using for overnight incontinence that is super absorbent.

I know there is no product out there that will hold a full night's pee from my mom. Even if there was, she would have that against her delicate skin all night. I set my alarm to get up every few hours to take her to the bathroom. Usually I only have to change the pad inside her diaper with this method.

I use Abri Flex Premiums, by Abena. Expensive but worth every penny. I get them from Amazon. It’s very full in the morning!

We like Medline Extended Wear briefs.  We have had very few accidents with these.  I get them at my local medical supply store but check online.

Try parentgiving.com. They have different brands of high quality products. You can order samples for $2.99, and they come 2 to a pack. My recommendation would be to order different samples to see which works best for you. We used Dry Direct "Ultimate"made in Italy. They also have them made in the U.S., but they're not quite as good. Those worked best for us, but they might not work best for you. If you order samples, they will take a little longer to get than a regular order. Regular orders are shipped out very quickly.

Parentgiving is in my opinion, an excellent business, and they will work with you. They have a number on the website so you can call to ask for suggestions from them. They also have a lot of information on incontinence, and products other than incontinence wear.

I no longer use them because my wife passed on this last June. I have nothing to do with the company, just try to give useful information to those who need it.

Are you familiar with layering the bed? If not, ask this forum for information on it. It will be very useful to you, if you use it.

My mom wears the Walmart brand Equate briefs with an additional "overnight" incontinence pad inside, also by Walmart/Equate. These work for her. It is difficult to get my mom to drink fluids, though, which may be why they're adequate.

My dad is my mum's full-time caregiver, and he uses reusable cloth diapers with pockets for absorbent inserts. They are made in China though I first found them on Amazon  (my parents are Taiwanese American so trust me that we searched for non-Chinese manufactured products). The ones he uses after 9 months of experimentation are closed with Velcro. He layers 4 different size pads inside and is able to keep her dry until morning

A lot of folks swear by Northshore for incontinence supplies. I'm pretty thing is all they do.

Since no one mentioned it, it may be time-- if you haven't already-- to encase the mattress and boxspring in a 6-sided zippered waterproof cover and consider protection for her favorite chair.

Abena Abri-Flex if you're using pullups.  Tabbed style usually have higher capacity.
