Teenagers…

I’m just curious if there are others out there in a similar situation. I’ve got teenagers and am their daytime caregiver to my mom.  All 4 are challenging and needy.

I am sure I saw other posts of folks that also have teenagers.  Yes, that is challenging!  My DD was a good kid, but there were times I think I would have loved to put a sock in her mouth... She's a nurse, now, with one of her own who is just like her     karma, you know...........

I don't but my older sister does. She takes care of mom when we're working. She constantly has to toss mom into her car, drive home, pick up her kids, toss them out at their work, and then bring mom back. She doesn't say it but I'm sure she's exhausted.

Thanks for the responses. It’s a tough balancing act to be sandwiched between two generations that are in need of assistance and have emotional and cognitive deficits.  It would be helpful to have someone to commiserate with.

Not taking care of a parent, but my spouse. We have a 19 and 20 year old, but they were 17 and 19 when he was diagnosed.

Trying to get older teens to launch successfully, while taking care of a spouse who is declining is overwhelming at times. I feel like a ping pong ball going back and forth between both sets of needs.

All Alzheimer's caregiving is challenging, but add on the needs of kids and it can just be so much. I'm sorry you are in the same boat.
