Another bad morning, wish me luck!
Commiserate with me please. I woke up tired and sore and I've got a migraine in the works that is taking up all my energy today. I can barely focus on anything here before me and we've got a new person coming in shortly for training to be mom's in home aide.
Supposedly our regular Monday person is coming and will do the training, which is odd because that never happened before. Also I don't know why they chose Monday when they're supposed to be taking over care on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Thursday morning. I hate this company. I hate that I have to go through my older sister to find out what's going on.
Dad was complaining last night about having too many people over all the time so I'm also irritated about not being able to take care of everything all the time all by myself. Still getting used to my disability after years of being treated like I don't have any. His comment didn't help.
Hope y'all are having a better morning. There's snow today.

Thank you SusanB. Things with the aides are good but alas I'm still the same as before.0

When my mother was living at her home, she had a fall and was in rehab for a month. After discharge, she continued to have services at her home (PT, OT, Speech, and a nurse). The service (Kindred at Home) did not always send the same people to the house so it could be confusing at times. Although she said she didn't want all these people coming to the house, she did like the attention. I used that time to get chores completed or went for a walk. Home therapy only lasted 6 weeks.
Your situation is different. It may turn out well in the end to have extra help. Hope your migraine is resolved quickly. I get them from time to time and just end up going to bed after taking medication until the pain subsides.

I have two friends who get migraines. When they get them they're out for the duration. I hope yours ends up being mild (or doesn't progress to a full blown one).
Thinking good thoughts for you today!

Thank you all, I appreciate it. Even if it was a different situation as what CanyonGal shared.
The first day of training for the new person went well, I think. She never had any experience with dementia before which I think is rude of her agency to give us to her. However she's really friendly and says she's extremely keen on details so she probably can get up to speed on the challenges of dementia. I was in a brain fog the whole time they were here, trying to push through the migraine. I feel like there were some things I missed but I tried my best to tell her the important things (wanting to go home, sundowning, give simple options). She and the regular aide conversed about their jobs and such too.
Sadly my migraine persisted into Tuesday and wouldn't go away with any medications that I had. I think it's still lingering and hope it will go away soon. Being out of commission for four days in a row suck.
