Sally, you should check with his doctor or a pharmacist to make sure there are no known interactions with his other medications. You don't want to cause more problems than what you already have.

Ed gives excellent advice; that would be the first important step.

One of the .important things is to understand that one gummie will in all probability not be the same as the next in some products.  Where you actually purchase such substances from can also be very important.  Personally; I would not start with THC due to more likely possibility of reaction: if you make the decision to move forward with this after discussing it with your Loved One's physician, then you have a little homework to do.

The FDA does not oversee these products, so how you go about purchasing can be crucial.  In some instances, some product from sources not as cautious may be contaminated and as said, one gummie can differ from the second gummie in the same container; container to container can also be different.  This can be said of any supplement on the market by the way. Sometimes, THC will be in a CBD gummie which would not be desireable.  So; where to purchase for credibility and safe monitoring is most important.

If I were to do this, I would research only the most credible sites; and I would start low and go slow with a cbd that had nothing else in it as some come with melatonin or some special oils mixed in.  You want to know how your LO reacts to one substance at a time.

Some sources will send a free sample to try.  Some sources have excellent product counselors. In fact, Consumer Reports magazine has had several articles regarding CBD and THC and just how to shop carefully. While the articles are older, the tenets are the same. If I can find  them, I will give the links.

I have NO experience with this whatsoever; I can only recall a Member stating that she found a credible source, "Charlotte's Web," and was able to get a lot of information, BUT please do not take this as a recommendation as I have no direct knowledge; but you can probably find them online and use them as a starting point to do your research before making a decision or a purchase after clearing it with your husband's physician.

Best of luck and please let us know how this goes,

    J.

Hey, sorry to hear that your husband is having trouble sleeping – that can be really tough on both of you. CBD gummies are definitely worth considering, as they've helped a lot of people improve their sleep quality.

As for dosage, starting with a lower amount of CBD is generally recommended and gradually increasing it until you find the right dose for your needs. So the 20mg option might be a good place to start.

If you want more information on CBD and sleep, check out www.mindbodygreen.com. They have many great articles on natural remedies for sleep issues, including CBD, and they're always updating their content with the latest research and insights.

We tried a little bit of CBD oil for my mom, but it didn't do much. Mom's geriatric psych doctor recommended mirtazapine and that worked wonder for getting Mom (and us) a mostly full-night's rest!

I suppose the answer to address sleep issues is complex, to say the least, as individuals respond differently for various reasons. One thing that may help shed some additional clues is which dementia the person is suffering from...mixed, Alzheimer's, FTD, LBD, or some other?

In your case, starting with 20mg of CBD and only 2mg of THC sounds like a reasonable choice to begin with. You can always adjust the dosage later if needed. However, if you find that this dosage isn't effective, you might want to explore higher CBD options or products with slightly more THC.

Also, if you're considering using CBD products regularly, you might want to look into getting a cannabis card. I obtained mine from Releaf UK, and it made accessing such products easier and more convenient. It's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional as well for personalized advice.

CBD gummies could potentially be worth trying, as many people find them helpful for relaxation and sleep. Starting with a lower dose like 20mg of CBD might be a good idea to see how he responds, and then you can adjust if needed. The option with 2mg of THC could also be worth considering, as THC can have its own sleep-inducing effects for some people, but it's important to be cautious with THC, especially if you're new to it. If you're still searching for options, discussing with a healthcare provider or exploring medical cannabis uk might provide additional avenues to explore.
