Transferring to geri psych

My father is in late stage in memory care.  The staff are prepping for a transfer to geri psych because he punched a resident last night.  He's been getting increasingly aggressive in the middle of the night wandering and refusing re-direction, so it's not a sudden change.  Hospice has been trying adjust meds, but obviously the current cocktail isn't keeping up with his progression.

I would be grateful for any experience, suggestions or questions we should be asking the facility.  My husband will be flying solo on this because I am out of state helping his parents deal with a crisis until Saturday.

Thank you for anything you can share

Fingers crossed that they can get him straightened out.  I would just be sure and clarify that they will hold his bed (you'll probably still have to pay) and if so for how long.  You might ask for clearcut criteria by which they will accept him back.
