I started to post this on another thread, but thought you might not see it.

Buggs, I'm not sure if you saw this video, but it's pretty good. When someone with dementia REFUSES to bathe [try this] If the stench is too much for you, try putting a little Vick's Vapo Rub under your nose. Some people say it works well. I hope it helps.

    I laughed at this. When I took medical art, we had to witness an autopsy as well as working on cadavers with medical students. The Vicks was handed out on a regular basis. I am working with a social worker to get him to tolerate being cleaned in small doses. It is a battle, but the Vicks is definitely coming into play. Thanks so much.

    My DH has been becoming more and more reluctant to get into the shower. I'll keep this one in mind, thanks for the heads up.

    I watched the entire video and just want to encourage any who are dealing with this to do the same. The more I learn the more confident I feel about being able to handle whatever comes next.
