Dear Friends,

I am aware caregivers of many religious faiths are here on this Caregivers Forum.

 *
Awhile ago, I was warned by Administration my posts were not a place for debating religion.  Therefore, I will not respond to comments obviously seeking this type of debate.

*

I trust we are allowed to encourage and support each other.  I welcome those comments, and they do not break the rules.

We are here to support each other.  I welcome support from many members.  All different members have helped me, in fact, I can say several have saved my life!  I give thanks for this board!  Hallelujah!

Yes, Iris.  I agree.  There are many loving and caring people here who support and encourage each other.  When I took care of my mother with severe dementia, I did not know about this wonderful place.  I wish I had.  Thanks, Iris, for your comments.  Hugs, VKB

I am one of the ones who comments and will continue to do so when I think a post puts forth one religion to the exclusion of others or is evangelizing.

I believe that all should be welcome here and that none turn away thinking that the forum is religious in any way.

There has never been a problem with posters expressing their own faith and  how it has helped them. I see no reason  why this kind of share is not still encouraging and supportive.

No debate.....just my reaction to your post re all humans must follow Jesus.

I don't see VKB as saying all humans must follow Jesus.  She is expressing how she has approached her caregiving via her faith.  I express how I am approaching my challenges.  I believe God directed me to this message board and also presented members who met my immediate need at a specific time.  You are one of those members, jfkoc, because you came to my aid many times when I was in a desperate state.  And I do mean desperate!  I believe God sent YOU for me to help and to rescue me.  You and others may not believe that.  That's okay.  I do not ask others to believe it.  But I believe.

I don't recall specifically about a post about a shepherd.  Even so, I don't see a problem.  Other members post about their beliefs.   I have read members mentioning saying reiki or making other statements about their own beliefs.  I think people dealing with dementia need  help where we can find it.

VKB, personally I appreciate your Bible verse. I can also say without studying my Bible I could not have made it this far in this life with so much ugliness in our world today. But God does say there would be days like this. Thank you for sharing and standing up for God!!!
