What a relief, got POA

My husband was diagnosed last July with Alzheimer's. And right off the bat, doctor said get a durable power of attorney. It has been like pulling teeth with my LO. Between him refusing to go to appointments, or being so out of it he didn't know his own name. My fear was he'd never be competent enough to appoint me as POA.

I just want everyone to know, find a reputable Elder Law Attorney. They know how to deal with people with dementia. Ours talked with both me and husband. Went over everything we needed. Then prepared all the paperwork. Had us come in went over all paperwork with us. He gave husband plenty of time to collect his thoughts and made him comfortable. Husband was at ease with attorney, and papers were signed witnessed and notarized in less than an hour.

I'm so glad I will not have to go to court for guardianship.
