Today my DH took his final shower.  He barely made it to the wheelchair and then he didn't have enough strength to stay in the chair.  He slid to the floor.  The Hospice PA and I couldn't get him up and had to call 911 nonemergency to get him into the bed.  After he got good and warm we noticed the mottling on his feet.  We had already discussed what the expectations were for bathing him in bed.  I HATE this disease.

I’m so sorry. I have nothing to add or comment on the mottling….just feel your pain.

Mottling is a sign of poor blood flow.  It is not a good sign.

The hospice nurse for my father looked at his feet the first time she met him.  She told us that mottling was a sign that the end is near.  I am so sorry for what you are going thru.  I am praying that the time you have left is blessed.

Thank you all.  I think I am as ready as one can be.  I just try to keep busy.
