DH is kicked out of MC for violent behavior that could have been curtailed with competent staff. What do I tell the memory care places I am looking to move him to.

Im so sorry that you and DH are going through this. I’m not sure what information they are required to know, but if they do find out about this most recent MC they may want to know what has been done to prevent this from reoccurring.  You mentioned that it was a staffing issue.  How would you have liked the situation to have been handled?  Will the next place be able to implement these strategies?

I know of  one person who had anger and agitation issues, pushed other residents down, including one in a wheelchair. He had a psych evaluation done, new medication, and was allowed back at his facility. Maybe his PCP can offer suggestions?

There is not always enough staff in memory care, in my opinion. There are days where a number of residents need assistance at the same time. And there are a few residents who push buttons of other residents to create an uneasy atmosphere.

I am so sorry this has happened. I see on the spouse caregiver board that your DH has been in and out of geripsych several times, and that your current MC did try. Staffing is unfortunately a problem everywhere. There are some places that seem to specialize in hard to handle residents, I hope you find one or that new meds will work better.
