Greetings,

I am 75 (in a couple of weeks). I was diagnosed by a neurologist based on a Pet Scan as having Alzheimer’s over seven years ago. They saw the amloyd plaque on my brain scan which is a definitive Alzheimer’s diagnosis. I initially freaked out, got depressed, felt a bit sorry for myself and then got my act together. I did a lot of research and conversed with a doctor who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s nearly three years before me but hadn’t noticed any meaningful progression. I started taking the same supplement regimen as him plus a couple extra, plus doneprizil, and here I sit in pretty much the same as I was 7 years ago (very little progression - Thank God).

My husband was diagnosed with Alzheimers last December and he's having a hard time adjusting. Curious, what supplements are you taking? Thank you for any help you can offer.

I just turned 60 and have been diagnosed with Alzheimers. What supplements are good to take along with the meds they will prescribe. I see a team of Dr.'s in mid June so I'm not currently on medication.

Welcome pscott. This question is best to ask your team of doctors. In the meantime read about the Mediterranean diet. It includes fruits and vegetables for antioxidants, and fish and nuts and seeds for omega 3 fats.

There are several threads about aromatherapy if you are interested. You will have to search for them.

I was diagnosed in the Fall of 2018. Not having enough information about ALZ I started attending the workshops and became a community educator. These helps in many ways. Besides remaining active and learning, I can still give back to my community. There are many resources that have helped me that I could share. I have worked hard to heal from the "dis-ease" of ALZ
