Loss of brain function with new alz. meds?

    Interesting Ed, Thanks for posting,. First I've read about the volume loss issue. That is potentially very significant. I'll google around and see if I can find anything more.

    So far Ed, I'm finding that there is a medical report in Neurology this month reporting the findings, and there's an article in the latest Science magazine that also reports on it. Will see if I can find more. the Science article says that this may well affect the full approval that is expected from the FDA at their July meeting.

    It seems there is a lot of disagreement on whether the shrinkage is good or bad. I guess we'll find out one day.

    That doesn’t sound logical to me. Loss of brain volume is one of the things that is used to diagnose dementia. No one has ever been told their brain volume has increased due to Alzheimer’s lesions, so why would brain shrinkage be due to the idea that the Alzheimer’s lesions are disappearing? I don’t trust these medications at all.
