My cousin is gone

My cousin, age 96 years, who was my late mother's last first cousin, passed away two nights ago from Alzheimer's Disease. She had been in a Memory Care facility and recently fell and broke her hip. Surgical repair was not considered to be an option. Hospice was called.

I had been calling her every week although I doubt that she knew who I was. Her caregivers said she still had a good sense of humor. Well, she's gone on to her reward now. She required total care for about two years.

Iris I'm sorry. I remember your being very steadfast about calling her. 96 is hard to argue with. Another of the so called greatest generation passes on.
