Communicating a Move into Memory Care

Hello. I've been overseeing care (mental, physical, financial, etc.) for my 96 year old Uncle for 4 years. He has been in assisted living and now needs to move into a memory care situation. What is the best way to tell him? Do I tell him or do I arrange for his things to moved one day while we are out and bring him back to the new space?
