Can patient on hospice move to better facility
My mother with dementia is in a nursing home and now has hospice care. My Father was there with her/ same room, and he was communicating for her, but he passed away. Her care is not as good now. They do not have memory care there. Also she keeps falling, probably on her way to bathroom. Will she now qualify for better care/ a memory care facility?

It is nearly impossible for a facility to prevent all falls, if the patient persists in trying to walk when she does not have the capability. I doubt whether a move would improve this problem. If you LO is in hospice care, she is at the end stage of her disease + her condition will continue to deteriorate regardless whether she is at a NH or MC.

On the continuum of care, a skilled nursing facility is a higher level of care than a MCF. A SNF is likely going to have more staff and deliver more hands-on care than a MCF. At dad's MCF, there were 2 caregivers providing care for 8-10 residents on the first and second shift.
The other piece to this is that while most MCF allow a resident to age-in-place, most will require the resident to be reasonably ambulatory and self-feeding at the time of admission.

I agree with Terei that falls can be difficult to avoid.
When my aunt broke her hip and forgot that she wasn't allowed out of bed unaided, her SNF required family to provide a 24/7 sitter. The family couldn't afford to fund this and took shifts in her room in order to keep her safe.
