At my last appointment my neurologist recommended exercise as a way of increasing BDNF, brain derived neurotropic factor. This is all I can say about it.

    Thanks for posting, Vegan. I'll watch tomorrow when I have more time. My neurologist mentioned BDNF as a preventative for developing dementia (not a treatment), not just for depression. I miss the Clinical Trials board, I'm sure there were pertinent discussions.

    Very interesting. The speaker calls for one hour of exercise daily for three months to increase BDNF levels. I'll see what I can do.
