Here we are facing our loved ones dying, we don't need our forum to die too. I agree, I need it and want it and will continue to try to make it work. And Mommyandme, I don't think it matters much who posts where or on what forum, I really don't. And I don't think there's one kind of love or pain that's worse/better, greater/lesser. I was so fortunate (seems weird to say) that both my parents left this world in the blink of an. eye, without suffering. I hate it that I am watching my partner fade away. But I can only imagine if it were my child--and so many here are also caring for disabled children or have shared stories of other pains in their lives. There are the two sayings that come to mind--one is that loss is the price we pay for love of all kinds; and the other is that if we were to choose our crosses to bear, we would pick the ones we already know because the others seem so heavy.

We will keep this forum going because it helps. It would all be harder without it.

I have been reading and learning from others on this forum for over two years now. While this is my first comment, there have been many times that I have identified so completely with the individual posting. I knew that I was not alone in my struggles. So, to answer Ed's question...I hope not. I read the forum almost daily. It has helped me manage my emotions and my DH's decline. Thank you to all who continue to give of yourselves by posting here.

    Rick,

I am so sorry to hear your DW passed away. Wishing you peace. I know how difficult it is to be a caretaker for many years. I did place my DH in Memory Care last Aug. I hope you can remain healthy and find some joy in life knowing that you took the best care of your DW.

To the original question: I think the forum is dying. In the past I found there were many much more knowledgeable than me giving good advice and I only posted when I had something unique to say or I needed to rant. Now I see more pleas for help or information go unanswered so I have felt compelled to at least provide my humble input.
