So my mother had her Eeg test done on the 17th of March 2023. She was hospitalized for 6 days and then released...

Her results were:

Focal unaware

Complex partial seizures

Presumably left temporal lobe onset.

Given all that she has gone through/goes through as some details given in previous posts.....

Can this lead to alheimers or dementia???

Will this??

Will she get worse??

Today she had an episode of forgetfulness and went around our house asking me if most of our curtains, furniture and appliances that we've had for many years, were new...

Is there a test for Alzheimer's or dementia???

This test is for seizures. It’s not for dementia or Alzheimer’s. You would want to have an MRI and a CT… and even then they might not find anything. Mostly the tests are the cognitive function tests done by a neuropsychologist that take a couple hours. Shorter tests are the MMSE or the MOCA.
