Accountant or bookkeeper recommendations

Hi there,

Anyone know a good accountant or bookkeeper that understands trusts and Medicaid?

I'm the POA for my mom, who has Alz. As part of an awful experience called Medicaid planning, a lawyer is recommending my mom put some assets into a living trust; plus open a Qualified Income Trust; plus open a Medicaid Compliant Annuity. Mom doesn't have tons of money, but essentially what she has will be in these 3 things.

I am paying her bills now and it's manageable. But with all the above, plus complying with all of Medicaid's rules and requirements, I don't think I can do it on my own w/out screwing something up.

Does anyone know a bookkeeper or accountant that can manage all this stuff? I'm in CA. Mom is in OH. The bookkeeper/accountant can be anywhere. They just need to understand this stuff because I don't. I work full time and this just all seems like too much.

The lawyer isn't doing a good job so far of explaining. She seems to think this is easy.

Thank you,

Lawyers are not "certified." Yes she is a reputable elder law attorney and licensed in the state of Ohio where my mother lives and will stay. Lawyer's advice is not the issue. The issue is my responsibility, as POA and trustee, in making sure all the various new accounts flow as they should, that the income and expenses get taken care of correctly, and that everything adheres to Medicaid income eligibility requirements. Hence my ask for an accountant/bookkeeper with experience navigating trust accounts and Medicaid.
