How fast does it go?

I know it’s different for everyone. My mom called several times yesterday to ask what city we lived in. Later, she said she called because people were asking important information and she didn’t have it. I must have missed the voicemails, listened, and realized that’s what she was asking.

her memory is going so fast. She is getting care now, but I’m still shocked at how fast it feels.

Hi Anonymous. What people were asking her for information? Could she be talking about phone scammers? Very important to know this if she is living alone.

Cobbling onto what @M1 said, I would look at her phone log today. The phone may need to disappear.

There are so many scams targeting the elderly and she may be on their radar.

Thank you both for your questions! Fortunately, she has no access to her financial info (credit card, banking, etc.) I manage all of that. I doubt she could share much info. I did check her phone and see who had called, and it looks like no missed calls from scammers.

She lives in assisted living with a memory care unit. Staff know her and look out for her.

For me, I’ve focused so much on setting her up this past year it still just hits me how disoriented she is on some days. Others are much better.

it’s been a godsend having her in an assisted living place she loves. They specialize in memory issues so she does have friends. Today, after a rough week, I came in to find she and two friends went to total body conditioning! Last week, she was utterly disoriented and thought her father not her husband had died.

    it ebbs and flows.
